The OpenStack Fund

This fund is a collection of companies that have pledged support to the OpenStack project. Based on the Teehan + Lax UX Fund.

Each company's position in the fund is based on: launched products based on OpenStack, future product roadmap, and partipation in the OpenStack community.

Rackspace
Launched on July 19, 2010
Rackspace was one of the two founders of Openstack and continues to be a thought leader for the project. Rackspace Cloud Files forms the basis for OpenStack Storage, Cloud Servers are transitioning to the OpenStack Compute code-base in the near future, and Cloud Load Balancers are being refactored for OpenStack.

Citrix

Citrix is a founding member of OpenStack and the second largest contributor to the project. Citrix's Project Olympus is a commerical implementation of OpenStack leveraging a cloud-optimized version of XenServer. Their acquisition of Cloud.com has been pledged to accelerate the growth of OpenStack. Citrix is also contributing to Quantum, an OpenStack Network as a Service product.

Dell
Joined at launch on July 19, 2010
Dell is one of the original partners in the OpenStack community and has announced a product built on PowerEdge-C hardware, which is a cloud-optimized hardware package. Dell has also provided Crowbar, an open-source installer for OpenStack, and participated in the OpenStack demonstration and test environment with Equinix and Rackspace.

Internap

Internap is launching the first non-Rackspace cloud-storage service based on Openstack. Internap has announced public cloud products based on OpenStack Compute and Storage, as well as an OpenStack-based private cloud.

Cisco

Cisco is an active participant in Quantum, the OpenStack Network as a Service product, as well as other parts of the OpenStack community. Cisco views the network "as an infrastructure service much like compute and storage is today." Cisco doesn't have any production-ready products built on OpenStack.

Limelight has been an OpenStack partner since launch and was the CDN provider for Rackspace Cloud Files (OpenStack Storage) until January 2011. Limelight does not have any production-ready products build on OpenStack.
